The Gecko Tour made stops on Atalaya’s New Course on November 13th and 14th and on the Old Course on November 27th and 28th. Ken Lingwood, Managing Director of the Gecko Tour, expressed his appreciation for fine condition of Atalaya’s two courses and the challenging golf experiences they offered to the Gecko tour players.
At the awards ceremony on November 28th, Andrés Sánchez, Director General of Atalaya Golf & Country Club, thanked all Gecko players for coming to Atalaya. He stated: “We worked hard on the quality of the courses. You’re very welcome back later this year. There is nothing like watching good golf! We look forward to seeing you again in a few months.”
The Gecko Tour is the only full scale, professional tour that operates in Spain during the winter months. The tour is celebrating its 7th year and is committed to providing affordable and highly competitive tournament experiences on Costa del Sol’s top courses.
The tour will return to Atalaya in early 2018 for another challenging tournament. Everyone is most welcome to come out and follow these fine players around Atalaya’s courses. Their golf is of the highest quality and most exciting to watch.
