Every year at Atalaya Golf the current captains and president get together with former captains and presidents for some friendly golf followed by lunch. This year seven of them played a relaxing nine-hole individual stableford competition, the winners being Eija Rintala, our recently elected ladies captain with 16 points and for the gentlemen, our president, Richard Phillimore took the honours with 17 points.
After the golf, eleven captains and presidents joined the lunch in the members dining room. Richard welcomed everyone and thanked Andres Sanchez for kindly hosting the lunch on behalf of the club. Lively conversation and happy recollections accompanied the meal, which concluded with Frank Beckmen, the most senior past president present, recalling some of the history of the club with some choice anecdotes and reminded everyone that traditions like this event marked out the unique character of Atalaya.
