The grass on the green of hole 1 Old Course, is growing despite the drop of temperatures of the last days.
The first tree phase with the planting of pine and cypress trees on the surrounding mounds of the new green has been fulfilled.
The use of trees on golf courses is a necessary part of the course, for they serve several purposes. They define golf holes, shade, make good safety and noise buffers. They also provide a welcome change in colour (decorative purposes), texture, and height to the landscape (add a third dimension to it).
Particularly they also support wildlife; thereby tying golf closer to nature, serve as sources of oxygen production.
The next phase is to plant some flowering trees along the perimeter to promote colourful surroundings on this hole.
