Atalaya Golf and Country Club is proud to share the performances of our talented players, Cristina Albertazzi and Roy Willemsen, who represented us at the Finnish Amateur Championship – The Errko Open, held at Helsinki Golf Club. This prestigious event showcased the skill and determination of amateur golfers from across the globe, and our players certainly made their mark.

First Round: A Strong Start

The championship began with a strong showing from both Cristina and Roy. Cristina Albertazzi delivered an impressive round, finishing with a score of 73, placing her in a tie for 6th position. Her composed play set a solid foundation for the remainder of the tournament. Roy Willemsen also made a great start, scoring a 70, which positioned him in a tie for 9th. Despite the relatively short course, the tight layout and challenging roughs tested all competitors, but both Cristina and Roy demonstrated their skill and resilience.

Second Round: Battling the Elements

The second day of the competition brought additional challenges, with wind and tricky pin positions making the course even more demanding. Cristina remained steady under pressure, maintaining her position within the top 10 and successfully making the cut—a testament to her consistency and competitive spirit. Roy, despite his best efforts, missed the cut by a mere stroke, a heartbreaking outcome after his strong first round.

Final Round: A Journey of Growth

The final round was a true test of endurance and focus. Cristina continued to impress, finishing with a round of 72, securing a T8 position overall. She concluded her tournament with a birdie, capping off an outstanding performance that highlighted her growth and determination throughout the event. Although Roy was unable to continue into the final round, his participation in the championship was a valuable experience that will undoubtedly contribute to his future success on the course.

Looking Ahead

The Finnish Amateur Championship – The Errko Open was more than just a competition; it was an opportunity for growth and learning. Cristina and Roy’s performances reflect their hard work and dedication, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements. Each shot, each round, was a step forward in their golfing journeys, and we look forward to seeing where this experience will take them next.

Atalaya Golf and Country Club remains committed to supporting our players as they compete on the international stage. We congratulate Cristina and Roy on their performances and wish them continued success in their future tournaments.
