The AIG OPEN was held at Walton Heath in Surrey, and Atalaya Golf Director Andres Sanchez was there representing the 105 golf clubs that come under the umbrella of the Golf Federation of Andalucia. The tournament was very well attended over the four days, with the visitors to the stand very keen to be photographed with the Solheim Cup Trophy. The Andalucian Golf Federation, the Tourist Board, and the Junta de Andalucia were very pleased with the interest shown in the club and in the area , and were delighted to receive a visit from the European Solheim Captain Suzann Pettersen.
American Lilia Vu won the event with a 14 under par score, with Charley Hull, a recent visitor to Atalaya, in second place, six shots behind the winner.
