On Wednesday, the 7th of November, Atalaya’s ladies section hosted its annual Invitation Day.
Sixty-six ladies arrived very early to welcome their guests in preparation for an 8:36 am. shotgun start. Raffle tickets were on sale with proceeds going to the fight against Breast Cancer, and all players were encouraged to wear pink in recognition of this very worthwhile cause.
Following the competition the ladies made their way to the restaurant for a welcome glass of cava – pink of course – followed by lunch. Carolina Flodin very generously donated items of jewellery for prizes from her online shop www.eivyflodin.se, and Fairway + Blue also provided a selection of golf clothes for the ladies to win.
The competition is always a pairs better ball which in the past has produced some amazing scores. This year Nina Phillimore and her guest Tania Kreutzer took the top spot with 43 points, followed closely by Julia Flada and her partner Maria Torres with 41 points. The team of Ute Bomberg and Klaudia Harmann placed Third with 40 points.
A good day was had by all. Finally, due to the generosity of all the ladies who purchased raffle tickets, the amount raised for Breast Cancer totalled an amazing €750!
